A shuttle service operates twelve times per day between Detroit Metro Airport and Ann Arbor. Guests interested in the schedules and cost (between $20.00 and $25.00 per round trip) should go directly to http://www.michiganflyer.com/airride-ann-arbor.asp . The drop off and pick up spots in Ann Arbor are the Blake Transportation Center (12 times per day) and the University of Michigan Central Transportation Center (4 times per day). Guests of the Lamp Post Inn can take any of the 12 busses. Once you arrive at either the Blake Center or the Central Campus Transportation Center, transfer ($1.50) to bus route number #4 to go to the Lamp Post Inn. The Central Campus Transportation Center is about a 5 minute ride from the Lamp Post; Blake Center a 15 minute ride. We are located at the Manchester/Sheridan stop at the corner of Stadium and Washtenaw. Bus route #4 is the main bus line that goes directly from Downtown Ann Arbor, through the University of Michigan Campus and hospital area and then toward Ypsilanti and The Lamp Post Inn. We are about a 6 minute bus ride from the University of Michigan campus (South University or Central Transportation Center).
My family and I are proud to be the Innkeepers for the Lamp Post Inn, a small family owned hotel in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Lamp Post Inn is located very near the University of Michigan campus and is in an ideal location for those visiting the University or hospitals. We are also less than two miles rom the University of Michigan athletic fields, The Ark, Hill Auditorium, the Michigan Theater and downtown Ann Arbor.
Our dream when we purchased the hotel was not to have the most exquisite hotel in town, but rather to own a hotel that was affordable but met the basics needs of visitors to Ann Arbor. We wanted to provide a convenient, friendly, clean accommodation at a fair price. We realized an older hotel could not hope to compete against the four star amenities of our pricey, and corporate franchised competition but we also believed that most people did not need the glitz, as long as they received value for their dollar.
When you visit Ann Arbor we invite you to stay with us and enjoy our hotel. We are proud to be a part of Ann Arbor, a world leader in academics, athletics and cultural events.
