More than just a best-selling artist, respected guitarist, expressive singer, and accomplished songwriter, Bonnie Raitt has become an institution in American music. With a unique style that blends blues, R&B, rock, and pop, she was a cult favorite for twenty years before breaking through to the top in the early 90s with her Grammy Award-winning albums, Nick of Time and Luck of the Draw, which featured hits such as "Something To Talk About" and "I Can't Make You Love Me."
With nine Grammy Awards under her belt and a long history of social activism, Raitt tours regularly incorporating many benefit concerts into her schedule. After a brief hiatus, she is back and recharged with a batch of great new songs to play in her live set along with the tried and true favorites that have treated her very loyal following to countless memorable shows through the years. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's nineteenth album, Slipstream, is daring, bluesy, and steeped with the inimitable slide guitar and soulful vocals that could only be hers. Out April 10th, Slipstream marks Raitt'sfirst new album in seven years, and the debut for her new label, Redwing Records. My family and I are proud to be the Innkeepers for the Lamp Post Inn, a small family owned hotel in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Lamp Post Inn is located very near the University of Michigan campus and is in an ideal location for those visiting the University or hospitals. We are also less than two miles rom the University of Michigan athletic fields, The Ark, Hill Auditorium, the Michigan Theater and downtown Ann Arbor.
Our dream when we purchased the hotel was not to have the most exquisite hotel in town, but rather to own a hotel that was affordable but met the basics needs of visitors to Ann Arbor. We wanted to provide a convenient, friendly, clean accommodation at a fair price. We realized an older hotel could not hope to compete against the four star amenities of our pricey, and corporate franchised competition but we also believed that most people did not need the glitz, as long as they received value for their dollar.
When you visit Ann Arbor we invite you to stay with us and enjoy our hotel. We are proud to be a part of Ann Arbor, a world leader in academics, athletics and cultural events.
